Nikon D80. So I have posted a still life photo every day this month - how cool is that. My dried hydrangea and little vase rare becoming stars. I sure hope some spring flowers come out soon so I can shoot some different things.

My Nikon D80, my trusted dried hydrangea and my ducky. This is one of the first photos I took when I started using my Nikon.

Two more of my blueberry photos. Nikon D80. The blueberries may look good but they were so-so. I am not seeing a new camera in my near future - I am having dental problems with equates to big $$$. Not a problem as my old Nikon is just fine for now maybe always.

My Nikon D80 - took these awhile ago when I split up the Valentine's bouquet - that was the gift that kept on giving! Awaiting some spring buds - actually awaiting spring.

Nikon D80. This crazy photo is looking down on a vase and flower and empty vase. For some reason I really like it a lot!

Another one of my dried hydrangea - going for the drama with my plastic Costco plate! My poor dried hydrangea are starting to shed - time for some spring flowers soon I hope.
I really want to buy a new camera but this old Nikon of mine takes a pretty good photo and for now that is going to have to do.

Nikon D80. I took quite a few shots of the tree branches - here is another one. I guess I need to get a new favorite vase but I love everything about this little guy I got for $2.00 in the thrift shop.

Yesterday I was desperate to photograph something. I didn't want to drive to the market to buy flowers so I cut off some tree branches from my back yard. I also cut some branches from my evergreen shrubs. I had a good photo day. My old Nikon D80 and my tree branches.

My Nikon D80 blueberries and the new tray I recently bought. I also made blueberry pancakes today. I have decided to drop the Still Life name in the title of each entry and just use the date. Who knows maybe I will photo something other than a still life.

Photo from my iPhone6 hanging around. My old silver ware and my mom's old measuring cup. I have her old cookie cutters in a bag somewhere I need to find them.

Posting something green for St. Patrick's Day. I was at the store last night and they had green carnations - so sorry I didn't buy one.

Nikon D80 in my dining room where the light was amazing yesterday. Dead things - I am eagerly awaiting spring and flowers starting to bloom. But I do love the dead things! I was out yesterday looking at my roses and realized there were a lot of roses left over from last year so I trimmed them off - the big red rose is from my Valentine's bouquet.

Used my old Nikon D80. This is a flower from my Valentine's bouquet - those flowers just kept on giving. Just back from the dentist and I am not a happy camper - I hate teeth!

One of my favorite pictures from yesterday's blueberries. Processed in Light Room with Kim Klassen's presets. This one has a more artsy feel - what I am working towards.

Still Life 03-12-19
I bought blueberries - they look better than they taste. I used an old cereal bowl that I have and a linen napkin. Shot a bunch of photos yesterday - the light was great and I like quite a few of the shots. Used my old Nikon D80 for these and processed them in Lightroom using some of Kim Klassen's presets. I am loving the Lightroom class and I have learned so much - what an amazing product. I will be posting more of the blueberries.
There is something Zen like arranging and taking still life photos (when things are going good). So glad I decided to do this - it is quite a change from my digital images but a nice change.

Cut these leaves from a bush on the side of my house - it is starting to have new growth. I think it is in the Euonymus family.

When my Valentine's flowers were looking a bit better. Love this little tin watering can I bought at the thrift store for $2.

Nikon D80
Still getting good use from my Valentine's flowers. March in the Northeast you take what you can get. Still learning about shooting and setting up. Also LightRoom which I think is amazing.
I am trying to find a good place in my house to shoot my stills. I have good light but not a lot of room. Right now I am shooting next to the dining room window - good side light but cramped space. I am just not comfortable but yet I persist. I also got the new camera bug but not for awhile. I want to do the research and get what I really want - I guess I should say need and can afford. Sometimes I feel like my head will explode but I am having fun learning and growing. I can't make digital images forever - I still will but not exclusively.

iPhone6
Probably took this photo in late December when I started my Still Life course. I bought the iPhoneXS Max in late January. Both phones take great photos. Played with this a bit in Light Room. I notice the photos on my iPhoneXS are much warmer than the ones I take on my old Nikon. I am thinking about buying a new camera but I really don't need one just yet and I want to do my homework first. I may rent a lens or 2 to try on the old Nikon maybe that is all I really need. I do like taking my still life photos.

Still Life 03-07-19
My old Nikon D80 Camera.
The last flowers from my Valentine bouquet. This is the first still life photo that I really like and is more like the artsy images I want to create. I am learning and I am determined. I am loving the LightRoom course I am taking from Kim Klassen - she is an amazing photographer and a great teacher.
This is the first image I have done that I really like. I love the lighting and the coloring. I also love the blur and misty look. This is the type of photo I want to take, for now. I also want to take this type of image in camera with minimum adjustment in LightRoom - I did it with this one. My problem right now is I am trying to learn how to use my camera, where the best place in my house to take my photos is and LighrRoom all at once. I have yet to find an area in my house where I am comfortable taking my pictures. A work in progress.

Some dried oak leaves in my little vase. I am waiting for spring when I have a better choice to photograph. I did some work on this in LightRoom Classic - taking a great class.

iPhone6
This is a photo I took back in December with my old iPhone when I first started my still life work. I am taking a Lightroom Course and thought it might be good to work on this one last night. I know it still has problems - like the fact that it is almost cut in half horizontally. But I am learning.

Still Life 03-02-19
My old Nikon camera and some adjustments in LR Mobile. I got this great wooden box at a fruit stand gift shop and paired it up with some other stuff including my mom's old measuring cup and my dried hydrangea.
I am starting a new course for March on LightRoom which I have never looked at or owned. I downloaded it and will start to work with it. I have been using the mobile version which is quite nice. I am loving making my still life pics - no pressure and my pleasure a win-win.
