Autumn Equinox/Mabon. Saturday September 23rd is the Autumn Equinox, the time when summer transits into the next season fall. Photo shot with my Nikon D750 and my 50mm lens. I made this image in Canva one of the apps I have been playing with. I have only scratched the surface with it but so many possibilities. I am also working with Capcut with a lot of my videos. I like combining stills with video to make images or other longer videos. So much to learn. I will post more about both apps here in new posts.

I have so many ideas of photos I want to shoot and videos I want to make. Also fall is coming and it is my  favorite time of year. I took a trip over to Michaels yesterday and bought some fall props to work with. I love everything especially that big bundle of ribbons.  Everything was 50% off so that was really sweet. Now I just need to plan some shooting - the where in the house and the what. Also I want to do some video too. I am going through Kim's video course using Capcut and Canva both amazing apps which I will talk about in another post. I want to learn how to use SCRL and decide if I want to purchase it or not - not sure yet how much I would use it. 

I like to shoot when it is cloudy out I do not like bright light. I also need to decide if I want dark and moody or bright and light??  I need to look at some inspo and just maybe create a shooting and mood board. Not my usual way of working. I just kind of plop things down and shoot - actually it works for me.

I am thinking about fall and winter coming up. Planning on a lot of creative things I want to try.  I was also thinking about this blog - on how I have not posted here is a very long time and also on when I did post it was just a photo and no explanation or words. I want to use this blog to follow my creative journey making videos and stills. I want to talk about what inspires me and how I take my photos. 

So this is my first post in hopefully many that will matter, at least to me. The above series of pics are using my Nikon D750 with various lenses. I am looking for some new places to shoot in my house and deciding on what lens could work. I usually shoot still life rather close up in my dining room window. They are nice photos but I am looking to expand and do more. I want to create more stepped back creative shots. Shots that tell a story, include more information and are more complete. I also want to combine stills and videos which I am working on but need more experience doing. 

I also want to talk about what and who inspires. Things I like. Props I have and will acquire. I want this to be a record of my growth - something to look back on and reread from time to time.  I will get better at this maybe adding video to these pages. 

For now that is about it. I also need to learn to budget my time a lot better - I want to do a lot but can't do it all in one day. I tend to jump from this to that and then get nothing done - no more of that!! I need to formulate a plan, maybe do some mood boards and blog about them, write down ideas about shoots and just be.
